WILMINGTON-- African-American filmmakers from all across the country will screen their films in Wilmington over the next several days.
The 15th Annual North Carolina Black Film Festival kicked off Thursday September 15th through Sunday September 18th with 28 films including features, shorts, animation and documentaries.
This year the festival included a student category. Filmmakers said it's an opportunity for people to see things from a different perspective.
"They get to see these wonderful stories that they may not see everyday. And they get to experience the festival atmosphere of just a unity of people coming together to see these films," said filmmaker Tanya Fermin.
